1985年にロンドンで生まれ、現在はブルックリンをベースに彫刻やテキスタイル、セラミック、写真、大規模なパブリックインスタレーションなどを組み込んだ学際的な実践を行うZo? Buckman。

フェミニストのアプローチを明示的に採用し、自身のアイデンティティーやトラウマを探る彼女の作品は、個人的で内省的でありながら常に鑑賞者に直接関わり、関係性や癒しの場を作ることができるように導いてくれる。

ロンドンのギャラリーでは初のソロプレゼンテーションとなる今展では、悲しみとトラウマをきっかけに生み出されながら、そうした人生の暗い側面への解毒剤となるような、愛と喜びの宣言を込めた一連の作品を展示?販売。

Buckmanが自身の分身として生み出した蛇であり、創造性や回復力を象徴する「NOMI」のモチーフを軸に、2020年の制限された生活下で喚起されたという家父長制の力に抑制されてきた時代の思い出から、再び自由や喜びを取り戻すことを表現した。
